In Memory of some Special Labs - now gone but not forgotten

Special Old Friends -

Please meet some of our much loved friends that are no longer with us for one reason or another.  But while they were here with us at Kobelco Labs they enriched our lives and touched our hearts.

Elemental Maj Prendagasta

"Milo"

Sire - Mardas Lord of the Dance (Imp UK)

Dam- Choclyn Royale

21/04/2002 - 23/04/2014

What a privilege is was to have Milo with us for 12 years. He was never a naughty pup as labs so ofter are. Milo has passed his calm temperament on to several of our pups. Until the day before he was put to sleep with a collapsed disc he had had 2 sicknesses in his life, one a wasp sting on the face, that nearly took his life from swelling at age 7 and the other a benign tumor removed form his mouth at age 11. Still very strong on his legs until the end.

Run free old mate..

Southbank Terracota

"Yoda"

Sire - Aust Ch. Charmerla The Mallon

Dam - Southbank First Edition

29/10/1997 - 10/12/2006

Yoda was a one in a million dog.  He was the gentleman and perfect family member.  He was also one of the best stud dogs I have ever owned....... Sadly after the long drought Yoda was fataly bitten by a brown snake in our own backyard, it was searching for water and Yoda was in the wrong place and the wrong time. We miss him dearly.

Charmerla the Mabalis

"Rosie"

Sire - Aust Ch. Charmerla The Mallon

Dam - Charmerla the Mecca

8/8/1998-10/12/2007

Rosie was a beautiful sole,  very calm and loving girl, sadly after a long battle with cancer we made the difficult decision to have her rest in peice. She spent her last days trying to mother other pups we had, something she  was very good at. Rosie leaves behind several decendents, all over the world!!!!

Kobelco Sassafras

"Sassie"

Sire- Aust Ch. Driftway Archer

Dam- Driftway Black Apollo

15/4/1995 - 10/10/2007

Sassi spent her final years living with the Leane family on Newry Island. We felt Sassie deserved undivided attention and thats what she got, she stayed with us on several occassions each year, and walked in the front door like she had never left. Sassie produced some quality pups in her day, all of which exhibited her soundness in structure and temperament. Some of her ancestors are still in our breeding stock today

Aust Ch Kobelco Elizabeth

" Liz"

Sire - Aust Ch. Charmerla The Mallon

Dam- Driftway Black Apollo

9/9/1997 - 14/7/2005

Liz was our first homebred Australian Champion, She excelled in the showring and her movement was to die for. Liz's progeny are still present in our breeding program today. Liz was a very classy girl.

Driftway Black Apollo

"Saidie"

Sire- Aust Grand Ch. Driftway Desert Storm

Dam- Dritway Destiny

2/4/1993-16/11/1997

Saidie was Kobelco's foundation bitch, and we thank Guy Spagnolo for giving us such a lovely girl, at the time we had no idea she would be the start of our legacy in breeding quality labs.
